New Delhi: Schools in Delhi will remain closed for physical classes until further orders while online classes and council exams will continue, the Directorate of Education (DOE) announces on Sundays given the situation of the air quality that applies.
The air quality remains “very poor” on Sunday morning, the authorities here say.
The city records the air quality index (AQI) at the age of 382 at 9 am.
Aqi on average 24 hours is 374 on Saturday.
“The Department of Environment has been directed to cover all schools with direct effects until further orders from the Air Quality Management Commission in NCR and adjacent areas.
Therefore, all government and private schools will remain closed up to further orders,” Additional Education Director of Rita Sharma said.
“However, online teaching and learning activities and exams for the Board class will be carried out according to the previous guidelines,” the official said.
The Delhi government has been on November 13 announcing the closure of schools and other educational institutions remembering the air quality that deteriorated in Delhi.
The school has been reopened for all classes from November 1, after almost 19 months of closing due to Covid-19.
