Nagpur: Blaming the State Government to provide “inadequate” compensation to farmers whose plants are destroyed by natural disasters, BJP today said it was being done to benefit the plant insurance company.
Pradesh BJP Pradesh Morcha Mahamantri Anandraro Raut said farmers denied their rights, only to ensure maximum profit for plant insurance companies.
“In Maharashtra, we have seen the plants destroyed due to natural disasters, and the Government of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has brushed salt in our farmer injuries by announcing the compensation package as low as possible,” he said.
Raut, accompanied by a press conference by the rural head of Nagpur BJP Arvind Gajbhiye, said the insurance company reaped the benefits of bumper.
“Only last year, they received profits from more than RS4,000 Crore.
Very few farmers can get the actual benefits caused by them.
Apart from this, the loan neglect package is also inadequate.
Only the RS150 crore provision was created,” said Raut .
He added, “Before the ruling, both Uddhav Thackeray and Ajit Pawar will demand high compensation for farmers, but now when they get the opportunity to do so, we see different results.” Raut says this “describes their double policy”.
“In Marathwada, Vidarbha and West Maharashtra around 50 lakh hectares of plants have been destroyed.
Shiv Sena, who is at the forefront of calling Bandh for Uttar Pradesh farmers, has failed to do anything for his own people,” BJP members said.
The expression continued to accuse that because of the “issuance” of MVA, farmers in Maharashtra were forced to die of suicide.
A Congress leader who did not want to be named said, “This is an unfounded and core accusation of this problem is that BJP tries to divert attention from the agricultural law disaster.
They have been defeated by farmers who are honest and now want to increase their popularity in the agricultural community.
So what kind of way to do this rather than blaming the Maharashtra government.
