Agartala: Hardless bags restored at Maharaja Bikram (MBB) airport on Agartala on Monday triggered alarm, airport authorities said.
Bomb squad and airport security are rushed to a place to find the possibility of explosives.
“A suspicious bag has been found at the agartala airport around 9:45 a.m.
The exhaust team is working and the airport director will short the press, “said MBB airport manager pickup Hoakip.
The incident was reported in the midst of political violence and BJP-TMC faceoff in Tripura.
Meanwhile, National Secretary General of Trinamool Congress Abhishek Banerjee is scheduled to hold a roadshow on Agartala.
Tripura police have denied permission from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and TMC to regulate a roadshow or demonstration in the city.
However, permission for road corner meetings has been given to both parties.
Tensions in Tripura have increased after the incidence of violence in election to election to Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and 12 other city bodies are scheduled for November 25.
