Pune: Pune District crosses the history of the first 80 lakh dosage of the Covid-19 vaccine on Monday.
The total target for the district is 83.42 Lakh recipients.
Monday also recorded the highest daily vaccination in November with 54,734 jab.
The district has now provided 1.27 doses of Crore Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V.
of them, 80.02 lakh is the first dose and 47.17 lakh is the second dose.
Officials of the Public Health Service Department said that even though there was a decrease in vaccination in recent weeks, travel taking steps with the initiative ‘Har Ghar Dastak’.
“The daily vaccination target below is around 60,000 jabs per day and we are getting closer to reaching every day,” said an official from the Public Health Service Department.
According to officials, the Ministry of Health has reset the deadline from November 30 to December 15 to achieve 100% vaccination with the first dose in this district.
Meanwhile, under the CSR activity at the Civic Pimpri Chinchwad, 3M Indian, vaccine on wheels, and United Way Bengaluru supports PCMC with their immunization drive since August this year.
In less than 3 months, with this initiative, more than 15,000 vaccinations were carried out for disadvantaged populations, using two cellular vaccination units from vaccines on the wheel.
Following the success of public private partnerships, 3M decided to extend the initiative with a new target of giving 50,000 vaccines.
With this, support for both cellular vaccination units will be extended for three more months in the PCMC area.
