Silverline will change the status of Nandigram: Sathean

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader V D Silverline Satheesan said that the project would turn the country into another nandigram.
Nandigram in West Bengal project had ended CPM rule there.
Similarly, Silverline project will mark the end of CPM here as well, he said.
While speaking after inaugurating Dharna held in Kundara in Kollam, by Kundara Mla P C Visnunath and Kollam MP N K Premachandran against Silverline project, the opposition leader said that the LDF government shows concerts undue and unnecessary in the project.
“The government should not think that they can continue the project without answering concerns UDF in this project,” he said.
“The government has put the entire state to be sold through this project, and the state will witness the attack as never before by the UDF against Silverline.
UDF will not support the project at any cost and will unite all the people around the state for the project.
already the mass movement has started in Kannur against this and similar agitation will be witnessed in the coming days, “said Satheesan.
“The Chief Minister said that the government would not back down from this project.
Why did he say that? What commitment behind this project which prevent it coming back?” He asked.
The Chief Minister also said that he would address all concerns raised against the project.
So far he has not had time to explain before the people of the State.
People still do not know anything about the project and there is no transparency from the outset, added Satheesan.
The urgency of going ahead with the land acquisition for the project has raised some eyebrows.
Such urgency can not be shown during the acquisition of land for the development of national highways, he said.
“Land is a precious commodity in the solid state population in which the Act Forests, Norma CRZ and the Law of Land Rice and Wet has restricted any kind of construction in some areas.
There are only a limited amount of land available in the state in which the state government will now have this project.
it is certain that people will lose their livelihoods when the project is executed, “he added.
Land, river, western ghats and some natural resources as it would be greatly affected once the project is executed, said Satheesan.
