Bengaluru: Karnataka moved into third place among countries in the number of total deaths Covid-19, thanks largely to Kerala to admit the appeal raised by family members of patients who have died.
Once the new rules are introduced, fatality in Kerala enlarged to 41,600.

To claim the government’s ex gratia of Rs 50,000 per death, bereaved family members have to prove that the cause is due to Covid-19.
Authorities acknowledge some cases, previously categorized as death covid or not included in the bulletin covid state, is revealed.
“The Supreme Court has directed states to set up a committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner (ADC) enhancements in all districts to receive an appeal from the families of victims who died Covid,” said Tushar Girinath, Revenue Secretary, Department of Revenue.
“In Bangalore, we have two committees – one for the District Urban Bengaluru and other area of BBMP.

“For the first category, medical records should be examined by experts,” said Girinath.
“In the second category, there is no dispute that the cause of death was Covid.
Only the name of the deceased were not found in the database of the Ministry of Health.
Directions have been given to the ADC to provide the necessary data to the Ministry of Health.” He said that the death of the two categories are contained in the database, the family will get ex Gratia of Rs 50,000.
“Unless they are included in the database of the Ministry of Health Covid death, Ex Gratia can not be paid,” said Girinath.

However, the exact number of deaths is added to the database with the state after the formation of the committee is not available.
“We have not completed the amount,” said Girinath.
Arundhathi Dr Chandrashekar, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Karnataka, said that while reconciliation is lit, the number of deaths does not include “not much”.
