Coimbatore: National Highways (NH) wings of the Highways Department (NH) are ready to start flyover construction at Santanallur, Saibaba Kovil, Thudiangur and Junctions Saravanampatti immediately.
Every light will be more than 1 km and have four lanes.
The union government has agreed to provide 400 crore rs sanctions for the project.
Saranallur Junction at Trichy Road (NH-181) is famous for traffic jams during rush hour and night.
NH Wing has decided to build a flyover from Uzhavar Sandhai to Vasantha Mills in Trichy Road to facilitate traffic.
“This center has given a project sanction, which will begin in April 2022,” said a highway department official.
In Junction Saravanampatti, The Flyover will connect Junction Road Kalatti with a judiyur road junction, covering a distance of 1.4 km.
The Flyover is expected to overcome traffic congestion on Coimbatore-Sathyamangalam (NH-948) road, which is mostly used by vehicles from Jalan Kalatti and Jalan Thudiangur.
The remaining two flyovers will appear in Saibaba Kovil Junction and Thudiangur Junction in Mettupalayam Road (NH-181).
“We have enough space in all four intersections and we don’t have to acquire land for kites.
Every ravine is estimated to cost Rs 100 Crore.
