Panaji: In significant political developments that can cause regeneration of election battles in the smallest country, the oldest regional party MGP Goa on Monday announced that they had forged the pre-poll alliance with the latest participants, Trinamool Congress, for 2022 assembly elections.
This is the first time that Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party will be for the pre-poll alliance with other parties besides BJP’s natural allies.
The Saffron party has claimed that they were in talks with MGP to forge the pre-poll alliance.
The pre-poll alliance, announced by the two MGP and TMC, came ahead of the week the visit was scheduled by Minister of Bengal and TMC Chairman of the Banerjee Mamata on December 13 “Our party’s Central Committee has been unanimously decided the alliance.
When Banerjee arrived in Goa, the alliance would be declared together, if all conditions agreed to, “said MGP President Pandurang’deakak’dhavalikar.
MGP has been arranged for about 17 years, and this is the first time he has forged the pre-poll alliance with parties who do not have the same ideology as him.
MGP, often considered the “natural allies” BJP, has allied with the Kunyit Party in 1994, helping winning four seats, including Panaji Constituents, represented by former CM Manohar Parragar.
“For now, TMC and MGP will advance in the alliance.
Our party chairman came here, and we will make it formal.
But yes, we are in the alliance.
The discussion of the modality of the seat was in, “said TMC MP and the Goa Party, Mahua Moitra.
Dhavalikar said TMC ideology was not a problem for MGP, because “our party will contest in our fort”.
He said the candidate for the Chief of the Alliance will be announced in January 15.
MGP Senior functionary Ramkrishna Dhavalikar is likely to be the face of the alliance.
“The agenda of this alliance is to defeat BJP and Congress in the upcoming Assembly poll,” Dhavalikar said.
He also said many parties tended to join the alliance.
Dhavalikar said MGP had the capacity to fight assembly selection independently but has decided to form an alliance with political parties who agreed to the demands of this MGP.
He said that as per party survey, 60% of people in the state have not yet decided who should choose even as an election for almost two months.
“The MGP decision will be accepted not only by MGP voters but all voters from the country,” he said.
Political observers are different from the view, but feel the cave with a very small constituency, every shift in assessment will have an impact on the overall results.
“Both in terms of chemistry or mathematics, this is not an alliance material, but our constituents are so small that chipping from people cares, and MGP-TMC can create psychological losses for Congress, which seems to lack funds,” politics said observer Cleephato Almeida Coutinho.
“In any alliance, which can transfer how many other people are important points.
TMC does not exist to transfer at this time.
However, there is an impression that TMC has a large number of resources, “he said.
“For BJP, it can also be a weakness in certain constituents.
But larger losses are for Congress, which I feel it depends on the bearing of five MGP seats, “said Coutinho.
