City: In an example of extraordinary rapid investigation, City City Police finish the probe into a rape case within 72 hours of the crime commission by a 19-year-old man against a girl six years ago.
After completing the probe into a rape case, taken by the city police under the scheme of “officers’ for the trial fast”, the police submitted a sheet of 80 pages on Monday night, accused the accused of the Bunti of Offense, the police said on Tuesday.
As part of a quick investigation, the police arrested the defendant within six hours of the crime commission and made him return to the court custody by the court.
Maintaining the speed of the investigation, the police got a medically checked girl, his statement was recorded in the presence of a master court besides checking 21 witnesses and submitted a sheet of 80 pages in court on Monday night – all in 72 hours.
The buntle accusation had lured the victim from his house when he was alone in it after his father went to work, said the police, adding the girl to be brought to the construction site and being raped.
The girl was saved by one of her aunt who reported the problem to the police in action, accusing the defendant and launching an investigation, taking a case under the special scheme of Rajasthan police for quick investigations and trials.
