Letter: around 1pm on Saturday, when the New Zealand team praised the historic 10-goalkeeper Ajaz Patel in an innings at Wankhede Iconic Mumbai Stadium, a small village in Bharuch with a population of around 4,500 was too sunbathing in glory.
Now settle in New Zealand, Ajaz’s left arm spinner comes from Kanharia Village.
On Saturday, Patel only became the third bowler in a cricket history test to reach Perfect-10.
Mohammad Musa Kapadia, Ajaz’s motherly grandfather said that he was happy with that achievement.
“We are all very happy with what Ajaz has achieved.
He has made a place for himself in the history of cricket,” said Capadia, Mrs.

Ajaz.
Explaining the early days, Kapadia said that after moving to New Zealand Ajaz used to play with Uncle Saeed Patel, who worked as a coach in the local Cricket League there.
Kapadia, who came from Bharuch, was also a resident of New Zealand.
He has lived in Bharuch for the past year because of covid restrictions.
“Every family member is proud of Ajaz.
That he achieved achievements in his birthplace such as icing on the cake.
We tried to meet him but because of the limitation of Covid-19 we had not received permission,” said Ajaz’s Uncle Akeeel Patel.
Akeel is the younger brother of Mrs.
Ajaz, Shehnaz.
Yunus Ajaz’s father, who used to run a business sales and electronic service in the Jogeshwari Mumbai region, migrated to New Zealand in 1996.
Yunus is now running a tire business in Auckland.
“Practice Ajaz is very difficult to make the game perfect.
He has two younger sisters,” said Akeel, who runs a car rental business in Mumbai.
All Yunus brothers were resolved in NZ.
“Ajaz is an extraordinary Cricketer.
After his choice in the Kiwi team, we invited him to be the main guest for one of our local tournaments.
But because of a busy schedule he could not succeed.
I attended his wedding in Mumbai and I was happy for him,” said Arif Bapuji, Ajaz’s relatives.
Not only family members but every villagers cheer for Ajaz, said Yaqub Dudhwala, a farmer from Kantharia.
“All in the village is pleased that the boy whose family comes from our village guarantee 10 numbers in an inning,” said Dudhwala.
