Coimbatore: A 25-year-old girl police constable committed suicide by hanging in the police quarters on Wednesday.The dead, R Mahalakshmi of Kaliamman Kovil Street in Kenjampatti at Madurai district, was operating to the rural armed book police from 2018 and has been remaining in the quarters in Uppilipalayam.
“She had been in love with an aide, that belonged to another caste.
The guy’s family was contrary to inter-caste union.
Mahalakshmi telephoned the guy on Wednesday afternoon in the quarters along with a verbal altercation broke out between these.
Afterwards, when she didn’t respond to his calls, then the guy reached her quarters and then found her hanging out of the bedroom using a rubber rope.
Then he cut the rope and then put the body to the ground,” a police officer said.The Race Course police delivered the body into the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for postmortem and registered a case under section 174 CrPC.
The human body was handed over to Mahalakshmi’s household.
