New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal Leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Thursday welcomed the farmer’s decision to suspend their long agitation and referred to as “Democracy Victory”.
“When the government did not listen, people were forced to protest,” Badal, who has resigned from the Modi Cabinet after opposing controversial agricultural laws, said.
“Even though farmers have suspended agitation, their wounds will take the time to recover,” he added.
“More than 700 farmers died during protests, parents were forced to sit in protest in cold and charred summer.
And then, they were marked as khalistanis.
These injuries will take time to recover,” Badal told reporters to reporters.
On asked whether it would now return to the BJP LED NDA, Badal said the Akali Dal moved from the powerful alliance of community problems and its values.
Samyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of 40 agricultural unions, on Thursday decided to suspend the three-year movement against three controversial agricultural laws and announced that farmers would return home on December 11 from protest stores on the Delhi border.
