Ahmedabad: There are around 7.5 individuals lakh who have not received their second vaccination dose in the city, but then there are almost 6,200 who have not taken their first dose.
For almost nine months, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has tried to convince this 6,000 people to get vaccinations – reaching out to community leaders, school teachers, NGOs, and even banners and advertisements.
Now, officials will visit these individuals to find out why they don’t take vaccines.
Every zone and health official will be given a list of people in their field of responsibility.
“There are high reluctance because of various information about vaccines that have spread on social media,” said a senior AMC official.
He added, “Dissolution such as drive vaccination is a conspiracy by the pharmaceutical company to weaken the immune system so that citizens are familiar with their medicines, or they cause loss of potential, or by taking vaccines you do not respect local goddesses.
Most of these trophes have been scattered On social media and remain with them since the beginning of the year.
“A total of 15,292 individuals were vaccinated on Wednesday at 222 sites in the city.
So far, 32.09 lakh individuals have been fully vaccinated and 48.02 lakh has taken their first dose.
About the Amc health center with the highest vaccination given, the official said the UHC chandlodia had vaccinated 1.03 lakh each while the Hall Tagore vaccination center had provided a 1.29 lakh vaccine until Wednesday.
