Bhubaneswar: More than 55 percent of BTECH students from IIT Bhubaneswar are placed in the first three days.
For the first time, undergraduate students (UG) have received the offer in just three days from the opening season, claiming the National Institute.
Apart from the gloomy pandemic atmosphere, the kind of such placement in IIT Bhubaneswar showed an increasing trend this year.
“There is a 50 percent increase in median salary to 24 lakh per year (LPA) from RS 16 LPA last year,” said the institution’s statement.

Six students have received the highest package of Rs 44.1 LPA for the first three days of the placement program.
While three of them are computer science students, the other two are electrical engineering students.
The latter is an electronic and communication engineering student, the official source said.
In December last year, seven students IIT Bhubaneswar had received an offer of salary packages each at 45 lakh per year.
Some companies include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Paytm, Oracle, Tata Steel and GE have participated in the placement drive.
Many of them are IT and start-up companies.
RG Raja Kumar, Director of the Institute, said a better placement showed optimistic placement scenarios despite fear of a new variant of the Omicron virus emerged and posed to influence the business economy throughout the world.
He said more than 80 percent of their students were on campus.
This institution runs its classes in physical mode for all students who are present on campus and in virtual modes for those who are currently going and are expected to arrive on campus immediately, he added.
