Gurgaon: The Waste Factory to Energy (WTE) in Bandhwari will operate in two years, Minister of Manohar’s Chairman Lal Khattar announces on Friday.
After operations, the 15MW factory will produce six lakh electricity units every day, he said.
Khattar made an announcement while putting the plant foundation stone on Friday.
Ecogreen waste management concession holder has not received approval to increase the WTE factory capacity to 25mW, said CM.
“After approval is received, the factory will be able to produce more electricity.
With a capacity of 15MW, it will be able to process 1,100 tons of waste every day,” Khattar said, adding that Haryana already had a 10MW WTE factory in Sonipat recently.
CM further said, “This project should begin before, however, he faces various challenges.
One of them gets land to regulate plants.
The corporation of the city of Gurgaon (MCG) has been able to clear six to seven hectares of land to regulate plants.” Previously, The Union Minister for the Statistics and Implementation of Programs and Gurugram MP Rao Inderdit Singh has suggested that other companies besides ecogreen must be issued to process the remaining waste on the TPA Bandhwari site.
Singh said that the WTE factory would process around 1,100 tons of waste every day and Gurgaon and Faridabad produced around 2,200 tons of waste every day, the government must consider hiring other companies so that both competing institutions effectively and waste managed effectively.
“The WTE factory will run to follow all environmental norms.
With a 25MW capacity, it will be the largest WTE factory in the country.
The factory will be ready in December 2022,” said Deputy CEO of Ecogreen Sanjay Sharma at the event.
Meanwhile, Khattar also put the foundation stone from the new MCG office building in Vyapar Sadan in Sector 14.
The building, which Khattar will be like a company office, will be equipped with advanced facilities, which is the number of Rs 117 Crore will be spent.
The building will appear in two hectares of land in Vyapar Sadan in Sector 14.
