Greater Noida: The authority of the large Noida Industrial Development (Gnida) will build a crematorium on the banks of the Hindon River.
The decision followed the demand for the crematorium from nearly 10 Lakh residents from various sectors and Nida extension villages.
The crematorium will be built and operated in connection with the last Rite NGO on the ‘Build, Operate and Transfer’ model for the next 10-11 years.
It will consist of freezers for the body, air-conditioned hall for prayer and warning garden.
Without such facilities in the area, the residents of the Nida extension must go to Safipur village adjacent to Mokshdham for the last rite of their relatives.
“We have demanded a separate crematorium from other facilities in the Noida extension for a long time because this area still lacks this facility.
We welcome moving and expecting facilities to be ready immediately,” said Annu Khan from Noida Estate Flat owner and member association (Nephoma).
After the CEO of Gnida Narendra Bhoohan approved the request and instructed the planning and department of the authority project to find a suitable plot for the facility, Hindon banks in the area were proposed.
The authority will rent the land into the last rite for 10-11 years.
All cremation settings, including wood, CNG and electric facilities, will be provided in the crematorium.
Family, meanwhile, can plant puppies for their memory that has been lost in the Memorial Park.
While the authority will build a way of approaching the location of the crematorium, the General Manager of the Planning and Project Department has been appointed as a Nodal Project official and will provide a formal proposal for approval for Gnida CEO immediately.
“The team together from the authority and the last Rite NGO will immediately check the place and draw the project’s blueprint.
The work will begin after the plan is cleaned,” said Deep Chandra, the additional CEO of Gnida.
Regional residents around the Nida extension have also demanded community centers, government hospitals, government schools and fire safety offices for the area.
