Jaipur: A teenage boy strangled and buryed his 12-year-old cousin in Nagaur to pay off the debt he collected playing online games, said the police on Monday.
The boy, Praveen Sharma, has disappeared with his cellphone on December 8 and his family has filed a complaint at the Ladnun Police Station, they said.
The 16-year-old accusation allegedly killed his cousin and sent a message through a fake ID to one of his uncles in Assam demanding a ransom of Rs 5 Lakh to free the child, police said.
“The body was excavated today based on the information provided by the younger brother.
The defendant has been detained.
The last rite was carried out after Post Mortem,” said the police station Ladnun, Rajendra Singh.
The police used mobile supervision to solve the mystery of murder, he said.
According to the police, the two brothers used to play pubg and free fire mobile video games.
Allegations have taken money from locals to play these games and suffer losses, they said.
