Veteran-scriptwriter Javed Akhtar’s lyrics on Mondays move petition before a court here seeking issuance of a warrant does not terbantal against Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut in a defamation case filed by him.
Applications, moved by lawyer Jay Akhtar Bharadwaj, register the number of exemptions have been sought Ranana for one reason or another since March this year.
He last appeared before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate RR Khan on 20 September.
“It can be clearly stated that the defendant’s behavior since the time of issuance of process by this court (Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court) it has deployed all the tactics that may cause delays unexamined in this matter,” said the application.

It was also mentioned that the actor made “false statements and one” before court.
Corresponding application Akhtar, Ranaut, on the date of the last hearing, which on October 21, has been seeking exemptions claimed that he was suffering from a high temperature and sore body.
The application says Ranaut claimed he was not healthy but his Instagram Handle updates on November 15 showed that he was “actively involved” in the shooting of his films to come.
The actor also has submitted, through his lawyer, that he was in the process of challenging the dismissal order of the Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) of the transfer petition.
Application states that Ranaut has not applied for anything that challenges the CMM Court.

“In other words, this case can not proceed further after the publication of the process due to the absence of deliberate and intentional accused of solely designed to thwart the trial and cause countless difficulties,” said the next application.
The court has maintained pending application and requested a lawyer Kangana to file their reply on January 4, the date of the next hearing.
The court also directed her lawyer to ensure the presence of the actor at the next hearing.
Previously, a chief metropolitan magistrate has refused Raneut petition seeking transfer of a criminal defamation case.
He had moved the plea saying that he had “lost faith” in court the judge hearing the case, because the indirectly “threatens” to issue a warrant if he failed to appear before the offense responded.
Akhtar (76) has filed a complaint in the Andheri court in November, 2020 claiming Ranaut has made defamatory statements against him in a television interview.
He claimed the actor was dragging his name while referring to the “coterie” in Bollywood, following the alleged suicide by actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June last year.
