New Delhi: The Delhi Court has imposed a fine of RS 3,000 in the state after the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) did not appear in the Riots Northeast Delhi case for more than 10 months.
Metropolitan Chief Magistrate Arun Kumar Garg said the example of the file showed that the SPP, representing the police, in this case it hasn’t emerged even since the ChargesHeet submission date on January 30, 2021.
Observations came after the delay request was made on behalf of the police for the argument responsible for the basis of that SPP is not available.
The court directed Delhi Police Commissioner to conduct an investigation to improve responsibility for the imposition of costs and reducing the same order from the salary of responsible people.
“The request for delays is allowed to submit to the cost of Rs 3,000 to be stored by the State in court on the next hearing date.
This court is not aware of the fact that the cost expenses mentioned above will fall on public exchanges and therefore, I consider it according to the Police Commissioner, Delhi To conduct an investigation to improve responsibility for the imposition of costs and to impose order the same reduction of the salary of responsible people, “said the judge in the order on December 10, the court further directed DCP (northeast) and the Commissioner to ensure the presence of the public prosecutor in this problem.
On December 9, the court session had taken a strong note about the absence of SPP and said this was a state of affairs related to riot cases, which were very sensitive.
The court also said that this led to delays in these matters.
It has directed DCP to take this aspect seriously and appointed a new SPP to represent the country in riot matters.
