Hyderabad: Even though the congress loses the MLC Khammam seat, party leaders say cross selection occurs with local TRS representatives who are not satisfied giving their preference choices to Congress R Rao candidates.
Congress only had 98 votes on his side but surveyed 242 votes which meant that a large number of local trs selected representatives could vote for Nageswara Rao.
The ruling party shifted the voters to the camp in an undisclosed location and took them back only on the vote day on December 10 to avoid wild hunting.
Candidate TRS T Madhusudhan won the MLC seat with 482 votes followed by Nageswara Rao to get 242.
Two independent candidates Kondapalli Srinivas Rao surveyed four votes while Kondru Sudha Rani scored a duck.
“This is a moral victory for Congress because cross selection has reflected continuous dissatisfaction with the Government of Trs even among the elected local representatives from the ruling party,” said Nageswara Rao.
Congress leader said people must be aware of the actual color of the CPI and CPM who claim to fight against TRS and the BJP government in the state and in the middle of each.
“While the CPI is supported secretly and the elected representative chooses the powerful TRS, CPM away from voting which indirectly helps TRS,” said Nageswara Rao.
However, the talks among the politics are that while CPI mainly supports TRS, several local representatives chosen in Wyra, Sathupalli, Kothagudem and Bhadradri chose to support Congress as ‘local understanding’.
CPM’s decision not to participate in voting is seen as a strategy to help TRS indirectly.
TDP has eight votes and most of it surveyed by Congress candidates.
Khammam City Congress President Mohammed Javed said that they were able to prevent the hunt for Congress voters by TRS and will win have the party allowed to meet and explain the failure of the Government of Trs to the elected representative from the ruling party.
