JALPAIGURI: Three people, including two women, have been arrested in Jalpaiguri West Bengal Regency and red sugar worth RS 1.4 Crore have been confiscated from their ownership, police said on Friday.
Acting on the tip-off, the police conducted an operation at Kamrangaguri Overbridge in the new Jalpaiiguri police station on Thursday and confiscated 700GM brown sugar, and arrested three people, who came from Malda, said an officer, an officer.
Investigations are underway to find out whether more people are involved in the racket, he added.
