Kolhapur: A study conducted by Doctor Kolhapur has found that nearly 27% of infected and non-vaccinated pregnant women may have fewer weight.
The study also found that if a severe Covid infection occurred during pregnancy, which meant that women who were not vaccinated were imposed on ventilator support for up to five days, it resulted in birth birth.
Senior content and Satish Patki obstetrician, who led the research along Doctor Rajendra Patil and Surhud Patki, studied the placenta of 16 covid-infected women who were not recognized to the Patki Hospital between January and May this year.
Placenta women, who do not have co-morbidity but with various levels of Covid infection during their pregnancy, selected.
This study has been published in the October issue of the scientific acta journal.
Dr.
Satish Patki told Tii that they used an upscale microscope to study the placenta and found “the capillary placenta barrier choked by blood clots caused by Covid infection.
Because of this, important ingredients cannot reach the fetus.
However, there are no infected babies by Covid because Coronavirus cannot violate the placental barrier.
“Gynecologist Puja Ghorpade from Kolhapur said that they also observed a 25% decline in the weight of a newborn baby.
In the case of premature non-covid women, the baby weighs around 1.2 kg to 1.3 kg and in premature delivery if it is infected with Covid, the baby weighs around 800 grams to 900 grams.
“So research by Patki has produced perfect results,” he said.
Patki recommends that pregnant women must be vaccinated without hesitation.
