LONDON: Britain’s drugs regulator said on Friday it had declared the Covid-19 vaccine made by Pfizer and BioNTech to be used 12- to 15-year-olds, after similar clearances in the usa and the EU.
The operator said it could be around the nation’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) to determine whether to move ahead and inoculate this age class as part of Britain’s vaccination roll-out program.
Kids aged 12-15 are already getting the Pfizer shot at the USA, whereas France and Germany intend to begin giving it to this age group this season.
Britain’s Health and Social Care section stated it would offer an upgrade when the JCVI had left its choice.
