Bhubaneswar: To promote a start-up ecosystem in the state, the Chair of the Naveen Patnaik Minister on Saturday inaugurated the O-Hub, the incubation center to support the formation of start-up and the next scale is activated.
The hub, located in a special economic zone in Patia in Bhubaneswar, developed by the Micro Department, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), offers an area of 1,50,000 square feet with advanced facilities, plug-n-play infrastructure to support start-up activities in the state.
“O-Hub will be the first point to identify the best in the industry for CA-Creation and business development with their new ideas and it will be a conglomerate for home and business innovation.
Now the innovators, mentors, corporate partners, enablers and facilitators Ecosystem – Everything will work under one roof, “Naveen said, after inaugurating the hub.
The minister’s chairman said that this initiative will provide a platform for innovators and employers to develop products or services, build formal businesses and interact with ecosystem stakeholders.
O-Hub will facilitate 200 start-ups every year in diverse sectors such as health care, renewable energy, information communication technology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented reality / virtual reality, handsloom, and more,, official source said.
While Odisha has launched its initial policy in 2016, so far has helped to cut more than 1,200 start-ups to create jobs for more than 10,000 people.
With facilities like O-Hub, Naveen said he was the belief that the state would reach the goal of 5,000 start-ups in 2025.

Naveen announced that the state had proposed in the new policy draft 2021 to reach young people in schools by adding entrepreneurship as part of the school curriculum.

The state incubation hub aims to mobilize the start-up investment to the RS 100 CRORE tone per year through venture capitalists, angelic networks, state government departments and centers, institutions or PSU.
