Working DVC for the 1500MW Hydel Factory begins

Bokaro: Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has started land work to regulate the Hydel power project in Luggu Hill in Gomia Block.
Filtered as Luggu-Pahah Pumped Storage, this project will be arranged on the Bokaro River near Luggu Pahah.
On Saturday, the DVC official team, along with the Sub-Division (SDO) of Murch Anant Kumar, held a Sabha gram in this area regarding the process of land acquisition to trust local residents.
The proposed project is located in Pindra and Tuti Jharia from Tulbul Panchayat, about 15 km from Gomia Block and 70 km from the district headquarters.
The dam will be built about 500 meters from the Lugu Baba Temple, the Suci Temple of Santal tribes in the state.
DVC officials also promised to develop sacrificial sanctuctions, apart from starting other developments with corporate social responsibility.
SDO said, “We have visited the site proposed with DVC officials to hold a meeting with the locals.
The project’s blueprint has been described to the population.
This project will bring development in the area.
DVC will begin project feasibility surveys from Monday.” Estimated project costs is Rs 5,200 Crore.
A DVC officer said, “This project will be a near-type loop pump storage scheme and consists of two reservoirs – one in the lower elevation and the other at the top altitude.
The water conductor system will connect two reservoirs through the underground electric house.
During the power hours Busy will be produced by releasing upper water reservoir through water conductors, turbines and generators, installed in electric homes to the lower reservoir.
“DVC has two thermal power units that produce more than 1,000 MW of electricity in this district.
On Thursday, new and renewable energy and power minister R K Singh at Lok Sabha talked about the project, which would have a capacity of 1,500 MW.
The Minister said, “This project imagined the construction of the top dam across Cairo Jharna Nala with an underground electric house in Downstream Dam up and the bottom dam across the Bokaro River.” He added that many important steps, including the trajectory declaration for the obligation of renewable purchases of up to 2022, have been taken to promote solar energy generation in the country and allow foreign direct investment (FDI) to 100 percent below automatic route.
