Bhubaneswar: To hone the skills of young people and make them employable, the center has agreed to six industrial training institutions (ITIS) and 10 skills development centers (SDC) for six-wing extremism (LWE) of the district affected by the state.
The State Union Minister for Affairs of Nityanand Rai told Lok Sabha on Wednesday that 5,36,427 candidates had been trained in Odisha until the date under the superior schemes – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKvy).
More students will get skills training to get livelihoods with the help of vocational education.
He said several specific development schemes other than the superior schemes of the center have been carried out in the affected areas of the LWE, including Odisha to improve road and telecommunication connectivity, financial inclusion, skills development, and education.
Work at the local level is produced by implementing all these schemes, he added.
In the development of student skills, RAI said the main strategy of the aspirational district program brought the existing scheme convergence that had their own funding arrangements.
To foster competitive enthusiasm and overcome the critical gap, the provisions of the additional allocation are there for districts that secure a good rank based on their monthly advances.
First and second ranked in the overall requirements given each of Rs 10 Crore and Rs 5 Crore, he added.
First rating from each of the five sectors each was awarded RS 3 Crore.
