MCG to clean bandhwari from 4L tons of waste

Gurgaon: MCG plans to remove and process four lakh tons of waste from the TPA Bandhwari site.
For this purpose, the Civic Agency will rent two separate companies so that waste is processed and cleaned in sequence.
Officials said that the MCG had waved two tenders so that the work to cleanse the inheritance waste from the TPA site began immediately.
MCG officials say that companies that will get a contract must first conduct a waste bioremediation on the landfill site.
After bioremediation, waste will pass through the trommel to produce compost, inert (concrete waste) and reject derivative fuel (RDF).
This process is called bio-mining.
“The company will further take this compost, institution and RDF and hand it over to the authorized company, which then utilizes or disposes this waste following the central pollution control agency guide (CPCB).
The companies then have to send the disposal certificate they receive from the company Others for RDF, Inert and Compost disposal.
We will make a payment to the company only after we receive a disposal certificate, “said a senior MCG official.
In addition, officials said that the MCG Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja said that after the company handed over their disposal certificate, the Civic body would also verify whether the company issued an official certificate or not.
MCG recently considered the contract cleaning two lats tons of waste from the TPA Bandhwari site to the company so that the soil could be given to the ecogreen to form a waste plant to energy.
Officials said that the company had shifted two lats tons of waste from the waste-to-energy site (WTE) to the back of the TPA site, where waste processing was still ongoing.
“We have set a target to remove the inheritance waste at the TPA location in July 2022.
After four lakh tons of waste are cleaned and processed from the site, we will form more tenders to clean more waste inheritance.
The limitation to do it simultaneously is that we do not have enough space at the TPA location, “said Senior MCG official.
