PATIALA: The Punjab High Court and Haryana have allowed the Patiala MC Board to start the ‘disbelieving’ movement against Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu again, but those who had previously opposed the trust of Ex-Cm Amarinder Singh avoided it.
The court had previously thrown a petition submitted by Bittu, which allowed him to continue as Mayor of Patiala.
“Of the 39 members of the board who signed a letter request on November 18, four had jumped to the side of the Amarinder captain.
We do not have enough to prove not confidence in the mayor,” said a council board.
Senior Deputy Mayor Y Yogi said, “We will look for the possibility of legality in this matter to take further action after looking into the court order.” On November 18, 39 board members have made a request based on Part 39 of the Punjab City Council Act, looking for the removal of Bittu for disbursement.
