Mumbai: The country recorded a single increase in the omicron case on Thursday, with genetic sequencing from a sample of 23 people – including five of Mumbai – showing a new variant that was very transmitting.
The highest count everyday was 11 on December 21.
Covid omicron-positive cases, 16 have international travel history and seven are their high-risk contacts.
The State Supervision Officer Dr.
Pradeep kicked on Thursday that 17 of the 23 patients did not show symptoms, while six suffered a mild disease.
He said 18 was fully vaccinated.
Apart from five in Mumbai, Pune recorded 13 new Omicron cases, two of Osmanabad, while Thane, Nagpur and Mira-Bhayandar reported their respective cases.
The calculation of the state omicron has increased to 88 so far.
Of these, 35 was hospitalized in Mumbai and 42 had expired after the RT RT report was negative.
Only two of the five new omicron cases in the city are Mumbai residents – a 27-year-old woman traveling back from London and a 21-year-old student who returned from Milan through Abu Dhabi.
“Both of these patients were treated at Bombay Hospital after they tested positive for Covid at Mumbai airport.
They have no symptoms and not in any treatment,” said the doctor who took care of them, Dr.
Gautam Bhansali.
Of the other three women, one comes from Rajasthan and the others from Uttar Pradesh.
A 15-year-old Pune resident traveling from London has been stored for observations at the hospital in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Thane City reported her first Omicron patient.
A TMC officer said a 40-year-old man who came to Thane from Ghana on December 14, developed a fever the next day and was tested positive.
While genetic sequencing revealed he had Omicron, his wife was tested negatively for the variant.
His condition was stable, said citizenship officials.
