New Delhi: A 40-year-old woman and her son was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a baby from Shahid Park Bhagat Singh Delhi Central, police said on Friday.
The defendant has been identified as Momina and his son Furkan (25), the residents of Valmiki Basti, Firozshah Kotla, they said.
On Thursday at 4:10 a.m., the PCR call was received in connection with the abduction of a baby from Shahid Bhagat Singh Park.
During the investigation, the complainant said that at night, he took six children to Shahid Bhagat Singh Park.
Meanwhile, a woman began talking to her and mingled with her family, police said.
After some time, the complainant went close to bring Biryani to his children to leave them in the park.
Meanwhile, the woman accused of taking the youngest one year old child from her daughter and fled, a senior police officer said.
During the investigation, the police received information that the kidnapper was hiding in Valmiki Basti, Vikram Nagar.
The police carried out an attack and arrested the kidnappers when he tried to escape from his house, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (center) Shweta Chauhan.
The kidnapped child recovered from his ownership.
His son, Funtkan was also found involved in crime.
He helped his mother bring children who were kidnapped in a taxi and also to hide the child from the police, said DCP.
Furkan pushes a taxi, added the police.
