New Delhi: Delhi on Thursday recorded 118 new cases of Covid-19 and one death due to viral infections.
The participant level reaches 0.19%.
Seven new cases of the Omicron variant were also confirmed.
After Maharashtra, Delhi, in 64, has recorded the maximum number of omicron cases.
A very translisting new variant was thought to be the cause of an increase in the incidence of viral infections over the past two weeks.
In the last 23 days, government data shows, Delhi has recorded a daily average of 74 Covid-19 cases.
This is the highest in the past four months.
In August, September, October and November, the city each recorded an average of 48, 37, 32 and 35 cases every day.
The number of active cases has increased significantly.
At present, there are 684 active cases.
Public health experts say these cases tend to rise in the coming days because of the spread of new variants.
“Even though we can’t stop the surge, we can certainly stop their speed by adopting the appropriate behavior of Covid,” Dr.
K Srinath Reddy, President of the Indian Public Health Foundation, recently told TII.
Dr.
Reddy shows that the sudden peak might flood health care infrastructure.
“We may not have enough beds or homecare facilities to treat even 1% of infected people if the whole number is, say, in thousands every day,” he said.
