Madurai / Trichy: Three new Covid-19 cases added by the Madurai district on Friday, making it at least a day since February 11.
Trichy recorded 10 new cases even when active cases down to 139 on Thursday.
Madure recorded 56 active cases and had no deaths for the 13th day in a row.
A total of 38 new cases were recorded in ten southern districts with Kanyakumari (11) having the highest and other districts registering less than six each.
Theni recorded zero cases, followed by two each in Dindigul and Tenkasi, three of each in Madurai, Virudhunagar and Ramanathapuram, Sivagagai (4) and five cases in Tirunelveli and Tuticorin.
In the central area, Trichy and Thanjavur each dropped one death.
The region recorded 45 new cases compared to 37 on Thursday.
The number of active cases in the region fell to 578 of 567.
The southern region has 439 active cases with Thyi (7) recorded at least in the state.
The death of Lone Covid-19 in the region was recorded in Sivaganga District.
The 56-year-old man with a commorbid condition was received at a medical hospital on December 18, positively tested on December 20 and died the next day.
