PATNA: State water sources and news and public relations division (IPRD) Union Sanjay Jha stated about the occasion of World Bicycle Day on Thursday that”bikes have turned into a medium of societal re-engineering at Bihar.” Sharing a research paper released by the International Growth Centre (IGC), Jha said,”The Mukhyamnatri Cycle Yojana established in 2006 has worked miracles in Bihar, that was reflected in the amount of female pupils seeming in Class X examinations” He said the amount of women looking in matric examinations increased from 1.87lakh from 2005 into 8.37 lakhs at 2020.
The IGC study paper authored by an assistant professor of economics at University of Connecticut Nitish Prakash and Karthik Murlidharan, associate professor of economics, University of California-San Diego, assessed the bike program and its effects on girls’ access to secondary schooling from Bihar.
According to excerpts of this study on IGC’s site, the investigators discovered that the bicycle programme was effective in raising girls’ enrolment in secondary colleges.
“Being at the Cycle programme improved women’ age-appropriate enrolment in secondary schools by 30 percent and reduced the gender difference by 40 percent.
This growth mostly happened in villages in which the closest secondary school was farther away, implying that the programme effect was driven by decreased time and security cost of college presence made possible from the bike,” that the IGC research said.
Sharing the excerpts of this study on his own Twitter manage, Jha said:”The IGC study catches the effects of Mukhyamantri Cycle Yojana rather well.

‘Cycle woman’ interacts with Priyanka Vadra:’ Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday talked to Jyoti Kumari, popularly called’cycle woman of Darbhanga’ on telephone.
Priyanka enquired about Jyoti’s schooling and counseled her to carry on her research.
She assured to assist her in the event of any trouble.
“The five-minute interaction depended in my loved ones and our financial standing,” Jyoti explained, including that Vadra understood her since the times when she introduced her dad on bike from Gurugram through the lockdown this past calendar year.

By June, Jyoti’s daddy Mohan Paswan died of cardiac arrest on May 31.
Priyanka also supplied her condolence on the death of Jyoti’s daddy.
