MUMBAI: With not one of the nine exemptions for providing vaccines to the city in a position to establish some direct link with producers, the BMC on Friday rejected all of the bids, and also its own international expression of interest (EoI) shut with no success.
Civic officials said that they refused all of the nine suggestions for distribution of one crore disease dosages.
A senior civic officer stated the providers couldn’t submit the necessary documents, particularly to establish some direct link with producers.
“According to June 4, all of nine bidders are disqualified,” a mature civic officer said.
The BMC, however, said in a statement it held discussions with Dr Reddy’s Laboratory with the sole distribution rights for its Russian Sputnik vaccine in India.
The business has agreed to provide it within an”experimental basis” into the BMC from June-end.
“More talks to secure a huge stockpile of Sputnik vaccine have been completed.
This procedure will go on to another eight to ten days,” explained a senior civil officer.
The official stated because the cold storage centre of Sputnik isn’t the same as that necessary for Covaxin and Covishield, it will initially secure a little number of doses in a experimental basis.
Afterwards, a huge stockpile could be purchased.
“As Dr Reddy’s Laboratory has the sole distribution rights of Sputnik in India, we’ve gotten in contact with them.
We’ll discover the number of vaccines they could promote to us and also how much time.
When this is obvious, we’ll put an order.
For the time being, we won’t get in contact with another firm,” the official stated.
The BMC had obtained 10 bids.
1 bidder who’d offered to furnish Pfizer or even AstraZeneca vaccines supported out.
Of those nine bidders, seven’d provided to provide the BMC Sputnik V, one Sputnik Light plus one stated the firm will provide any authorized vaccine which becomes accessible.
Together with all the Russian Development Investment Fund (RDIF) and Dr Reddy’s clarifying they haven’t entered into a venture with any company to provide Sputnik V or even Sputnik Light at India, the BMC had stated if they were unable to establish some direct link with all their providers with producers, they’d quit calculating the supplies.
