Colva: Additional Session Judge Vincent D’Silva on Thursday was sentenced to Safe Kavitiya against a lifelong imprisonment and a fine of One Lakh Hospital for the murder of Baptista d’Costa aka Batu almost three years ago.
On January 20, 2018, at Lover Beach, Betalbatim, the defendant killed D’Costa by slitting a sharp knife, and after committing a crime, the defendant hiding blood-stained weapons in the bushes and took gold items.
In people who die, cash and two cellphones, and hide them in different places.
The prosecution led by Counsel D M Korgaonkar examined 28 witnesses in this case.
“All circumstances have been proven by prosecution, and all the situations that are put together enough to hold allegations of guilty of murder outside of all doubts,” Judge D’Silva was observed.
The judge also observed that the defendant had planned a crime when he had bought a knife about two days before the incident, especially to cause death and carry out the robbery of gold ornaments, who were in the dead, and escaped from the scene of the incident.
The fine number of RS one lakh must be paid to the deceased’s wife, the court ordered.
