Hyderabad: After weeks of charges and suspected counter between TRS and BJP, with the first even threatening to throw away the handler at the Indian gate in New Delhi, the central government finally sent a written guarantee to the state that would get 6 tons of additional lakh metrics from Vanakalam ( Kharif) Rice from Telangana.
But the stand-off between the state and central government of the procurement of rice seems far from being resolved because the state has demanded that the center do at least 80 lakh MT rice.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Food UNION under Secretary Jai Prakash wrote to the Commissioner of Telangana Civilia that the Indian Government has approved an increase in the target of the procurement of rice with 6 lakh Kharif Mountain.
This guarantee took the total target for the procurement of Kharif raw rice by the center below the central pond to 46 lakh MT from Telangana.
The center has explained that it will not buy parboiled rice from the Yasangi season (Rabi) from Telangana.
The Chairperson of Telangana Civilia, Mareddy Srinivas Reddy accused the central government to monitor motorbike treatment to Telangana.
“Even though there are financial constraints, the TRS government in the past seven years has bought 6 tons of rice metrics, paying Rs 96,000 Crore to farmers..
Telangana stood first in the procurement of rice in South India and the second in the country after Punjab,” he said.
“Why does the center treat Telananga indifferently.
A total of 85 lakh MT in Punjab and 55 lakh MT rice in Haryana was bought by the center.
What is the problem in the procurement of 80 lakh rice from Telangana,” he asked.
On the side of the BJP government in the middle of playing a political drama by refusing to solve the problem of rice farmers in Telangana and on the other hand, Telangana Congress President Revanth Reddy played with the life of farmers by planting rice in Yasangi, knowing well that the center would not get it, said Mareddy Srinivas Reddy.
The Minister of Civil Equipment Gangula Kamalakar said CM would respond to the center decision to only buy 6 lakh MT rice from Telangana.
