Mumbai: Nine Jumbo BMC Facilities will join a double as a vaccination center for 9.2 lakh children in the age group 15-18 from Monday.
The center, spread from Worli to Mulund, will try to vaccinate at least 500 children every day.
“We have decided to allow the promise to walk because we found that people feel less complicated than booking slots,” said the commissioner of the Municipality of Suresh Kakani.
At present, only Covaxin is available for pediatric drives, which began almost a year after Vaccination Covid Mass India began on January 16, 2020.

State immunization officials said that 650 centers have been set across the country to vaccinate at the age of 60 lakh in the age group 15-18.
Nine BMC centers are: Jumbo Facilities at the Richardson Crudas Factory in Byculla, Jumbo in Somaiya Maidan in Sion, which is in NSCI Dome in Worli, Nesco Center in Goregaon (East) and other Jumbos in Bandra-Kurla Complex, Malad, and Mulund (West ).
BMC has also arranged free vaccination at Train Hospital Dr.
Babasaheb Ambedkar in Parel where the kids train employees can be vaccinated.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has established 25 vaccination teams that will include schools and colleges.
Initially, 50% of city schools and 50% private schools would be selected for drives.
