Mumbai: GST revenue Maharashtra who has been dipped in November, has risen again in December into the second highest collection of these years at Rs 19,456 Crore.
The collection is Rs 800 Crore higher than in November.
GST revenue has declined from Rs 19,355 Crore in October to Rs 18, 656 Crore in November.
The collection in December showed a significant increase.
GST is a consumption-based tax and is an indicator of economic activity.
The GST Maharashtra collection is the highest in this country, and is a major income producer for the state government.
The GST Country collection in the nine months of the financial year began April-December was 38% higher than they last year.
The collection during this period was Rs 1.57 Lakh Crore this year compared to RS 1.14 Lakh Crore last year.
Officials said there were two reasons to soak in the GST collection in November.
First, the purchase in the October celebration season is higher than in November.
Second, GST filing is usually higher in October.
“The collection in December reflects an increase in economic activity in the period after removal of restrictions,” said a senior official.
GST revenue for December was 9.9% higher than last December.
