PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said on Sunday that the GMC Super-Special Hospital would be fully dedicated to Covid patients.
Speaking of state readiness when the case rose sharply, he said, “All hospitals are ready, and we have separate facilities for isolation, light cases, etc.” The Covid Task Force of the state chaired by the minister’s chairman is likely to meet on Monday to discuss the increase in cases and make decisions on how to curb the spread of Covid and consider the recommendations made by the Expert Committee.
The lack of acute beds during the second wave destroyed the authority forced the parties to open a special super block to Covid patients, after the pressure from the High Court.
Referring to the election of upcoming assembly, Rane said that the Union Government will issue the right direction, and this will be held in Goa.
Mansukh Uni Health Minister Mandaviya held a video conference with the Minister of Health to discuss Covid situations and management.
The conference was attended by Rane, the Secretary of the State Health, and Dean of GMC, among others.
At the meeting, Rane said that due to the fact that Goa was a tourist destination, there was a burden in the state.
“I said at the meeting that we had a standard operating procedure (SOP) imposed, and at the same time, the trade union government had to issue a general soup for the country,” he said, adding that Covid-19 led by Omicron-19 Spike US, Spain, England and India are also discussed.
Rane said that people must take precautions, wear masks, and maintain social distance.
All suspects Omicron Goa were quarantined at the State Quarantine Facility.
The current country uses a health center in Cansaulim with a capacity of 18, TB Margao Hospital with a capacity of 16, and a health center in Aldona with an eight-bed capacity.
The Curchorem Health Center with 30 beds will also be used as a state quarantine facility.
