Hyderabad: Telangana police have arrested TRS Kothagudem MLA Vanama Venkateshwar Rao’s Son Vanama Raghavendra Rao in connection with a reduction in suicide cases, police said on Saturday.
Vanama Raghavendra was arrested by police at the Chintalapudi police at Andhra Pradesh and taken to the Kothagudem district.
Raghavendra was ordered by police under it 302, 306 and 307 IPC after four family members died of burns.
According to ASP Rohit Raju, Takiga Rama Rama Krishna poured gasoline in his wife told Sri Laxmi, two daughters – Sai Sahitya and Takiga Sai Sahithi – and on himself and made his own burning.
In a video before his death, Rama Krishna accused him of having a property dispute with Rao, and the first had asked him to send his wife to resolve the dispute, ASP Raju said.
On January 3, Rama Krishna, Sri Laxmi and Sai Sahitya died of burns, while Sai Sahithi, who suffered 80 percent of injury burns, died on January 5 at around 6pm.
After this, the police launched a hunt for arresting Rao.
On Friday night, Rao was arrested at Mandalapalli.
The defendant will be produced before the court today.
Further investigation is taking place.
