Greater Noida: National Green Tribunal (NGT) has recognized complaints about “massive pollution due to waste and wastewater” in 93 Noida Village and ordered the formation of panels to take improvement measures.
Direction follows complaints about the release of waste on open land, roads, internal pathways and storm waterways in villages and “blockage of storm water with solid waste, plastic waste, construction waste and other demolition”.
That the authorities fail to uphold the rights of citizens to cleanse the environment and the principle of sustainable development, the Green Court has asked the panel to meet within two weeks, conduct site visits and ensure a repair action plan.
Looking for reports in the next two months, NGT has also directed the Committee to develop an action plan that includes septage management and identifies “authorities responsible for failure and actions to be taken against violators’ violators”.
Two larger noida villages have approached NGT with complaints, which stated that the villagers were “forced to cleanse waste water / waste water filled with water and drink polluted water because most of them were unable to purify RO” or other systems.
