Noida: Physicians have contested the Noida government’s decision to creep up paediatric centers for another tide of Covid, stating most children will probably not become contaminated and spending on hospitals and intensive care units (ICU) especially for youngsters are a waste of funds.
Pros coping with Covid for the last one year implied that the government should embrace a hybrid design to ensure wards and ICUs for adults could be quickly updated for children’s requirements if needed.
They also pointed out that ICUs just for kids would call for extra physicians and nurses, in a time that there was a serious crunch of expert workforce.
Doctors also expressed uncertainty on the premise that more kids were prone to get infected from the next wave.
They said the premise was founded on the grounds that children may be at highest danger due to now the next tide comes, many individuals aged over 18 could be vaccinated.

“The therapy and medications are the exact same for children over a decade old and those for adults.
The majority of the gear and mattress sizes will also be exactly the same.
Just consumables such as masks and medication are all different, which can be readily ordered in adult ICUs,” explained Dr DK Gupta, paediatrician and also chairperson of both Felix hospital.
The physicians also said producing additional ICU wards would require extra funds, in some time hospitals were stretched.
“More centers using PICU wards will require a lot more proficient nurses and paramedical personnel.
