New Delhi: Health Minister Delhi Satyendra Jain on Wednesday said the number of hospital admissions in the national capital because Covid-19 has stabilized over the past five days which shows that pandemic waves have peaked and cases can begin to decline in 2 -3 days .
The number of everyday cases has floated around 20,000 for the past few days, and the level of progress has been consistently around 25%, he said.
“We have observed that the number of hospital admissions has been stabilized in four to five days and only 2,209 of 14,621 beds occupied and 85% of the beds are empty,” said Minister to reporters.
“The highlands of hospital admission are indications that the waves have peaked.
We may see a decline in cases in two to three days,” he said.
Cases have begun to decline in Mumbai and Delhi likely to follow the same trend, added Jain.
“This, however, does not mean that the covid threat has passed.
People must strictly comply with all guidelines so that the spread can be controlled as soon as possible,” he said.
He also assured that if the case dropped in the next few days, the limit would be appointed.
The Delhi government has recently issued orders who need all private organizations to ‘work from home’.
In addition, all restaurants and bars have been closed, and only shipping houses available.
The Minister added that most of those who had died in the ongoing wave of infection had comorbidity and very few deaths had occurred because of Coronavirus.
“People with comorbidity face more problems, not many people come to hospitals for Coronavirus care,” he said.
Jain said the doctor at Lok Nayak Hospital told him on Tuesday only six of 36 patients in the ICU they had a “severe” covid infection.
“Thirty patients have other problems as the main reason and not a problem induced by Covid-19 like pneumonia or lung failure like the last time,” he said.
On Tuesday, Minister of Man Arvind Kejriwal said that of 136 Covid patients at Lok Nayak Hospital (until Tuesday), 130 had come for the treatment of other problems and tested positive at the time of entry.
The National Capital has reported 23 deaths on Tuesday.
This has recorded 93 fatalities in the first 11 days a month.
It has recorded 54 deaths in the last five months – nine in December, seven in November, four in October, five in September and 29 in August.
In July, the virus claimed 76 lives in the national capital.
The Minister of Health also welcomed the central new guide for Covid-19 testing, by saying “If you do not have symptoms, under 60 and have no comorbidity, you do not need to be tested”.
The presence of viruses in the human body is not a matter of worries until the symptoms arise, he said.
He added that very few children contracted infection, and only those who had pre-existing problems may require hospitalization.
Jain said Delhi had 31,000 covid beds today.
This number can be increased to 37,000 if needed, but it is not necessary for it.
