New Delhi: The main conspirator of the shootout in Rohini Court, where Gangster Jitender Gogi was killed, had been arrested after a short fire exchange from the Narela North Delhi industrial area, police said on Wednesday.
The defendant has been identified as Rakesh Tajpuriya (31), a resident of Alipur and Associate Tillu Gang, they said.
According to the police, Rakesh was one of the most active members and Tillu Gang sharp shooters.
He brought Rs 50,000 gift.
One semi-automatic gun with three live cartridges and three empty shells restored from that place, police said.
Rakesh is the main conspirator behind the murder of his gang rival, Jitender aka Gogi with Sunil Tillu’s direction from prison, they said.
The police said that on Tuesday, they received a tip-off that Rakesh would approach the Xing Chemical Factory road, Narela’s industrial area around 10pm to meet his colleague.
“A trap is placed and Rakesh looks riding a bicycle near the place.
He was asked to give up, but the defendant dropped his bicycle and fired two rounds to the police.
The police also fired one round and defeated Rakesh,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (specific cells) Jasme Singh.
Rakesh was involved in more than 12 criminal cases, including murder, murder, extortion, in Delhi and Haryana in the last 10 years, police said.
Rakesh was sought in the case of playback of the most sensational day in the Rohini Court on September 24, 2021 where Jitender Gogi was killed.
Gogi was shot dead by two Gangster Gang Sunil Tillu who had entered the court complex in a lawyer dress, DCP said.
Both shooters and arms used in the shootout were arranged by Rakesh according to the direction of Sunil Tillu’s direction and he himself remained outside the court during the shootout, the police said.
In 2020 and 2021, Rakesh, along with his colleagues, had killed Sonu Kanda, Kulbir Mathur and Nitesh, all members of Gogi Gang, police said.
