Coimbatore: Son of a City Hotel Supervisor is ready to become a fighter pilot with the Indian Air Force (IAF).
A citizen of Pappanatiedacepalayam, Arun 22 years old said he was inspired by a great Saravanan, who was martyred in the cargil war, and wanted to become a military officer.
As a native population of Tenkasi, Arun, along with his father Murugaiiah, Mrs.
Subbulakshmi and Sister of Venkatesh, moved to the city about six years ago to pursue a higher study after completing class X.
“When I moved to the city, I knew it .
One must pass a variety of processes and selection tests to become officers with the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.
So, I joined the officer Preparatory Academy in the city to prepare for the selection process when I was in class XII, “he told Toi.
After completing class XII, Arun joined Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College in Vattamalaipalayam for BTECH (Information Technology) and appeared for Combined Defense Services (CDS) examinations.
He also took the Air Force General Registration Test (AFCAT) in 2021.
“I broke the CD exam only on seventh efforts and the results were stated last year.
After completing the interview, I was chosen for training at the Academy Training Officer (OTA) in Chennai, where I joined a month ago.
While the results of the AFCAT came out in September last year, I was chosen for training at the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad to become the Fighter IAF flight pilot just 10 days ago.
Training will begin on Saturday, “Arun said.
He has completed training in OTA to become officers with the Indian Army Signal Corps who handle military communication.
“I have resigned from OTA , it has also cleaned the AFCAT and will join the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad on January 15 to become a fighter jet pilot such as Arun.
