Kolkata: The launch of the girder that is a lot of awaited or the construction of the SuperStructure of the New Tallah Road Overbridge (ROB) has begun.
State Pwd, an executive agent, pursuing a mid-2022 deadline to complete the Tallah RS 350 Crore Bridge Reconstruction Project.
The PWD L & T engineer and contractor worked on the footing of war to complete the erection and launch of Girders to build the bridge deck.
The main Secretary of PWD, Onkar Singh Meena, told Ti, “The launch of Girder is in full swing, even at night, even though the situation is ongoing Covid who has some infected workers.
The train has strength and block of traffic so that spans can be launched through Track.
“The 60-year-old bridge was pulled down on April 2020, because it was an outdated repair.
Construction of the Four-Lane Bowstring bridge began in August.
On December 9, the last milestone was reached when the commissioner of the Train Safety (CRS) gave a nod to the launch of Girder.
CRS, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, clears new train projects throughout the country.
New Tallah Bridge is actually a wooden road (Rob) under the Ambit Railway east.
The 240m part of the 750m structure will stand on the train track tallah operated by ER.
Six docks each in Shyambazar and Dunlop’s tip and six others in the middle will support the deck slab on the railroad tracks.
Superstructors will be a sustainable girder system that includes train tracks, built with girder erection techniques launched or sequential erections of girders one by one, using high-capacity cranes.
“Development of two ranges (between Piers 7 and 8 and between Piers 8 and 9), on the railway line, by the launch of Girder, is the most important part of the project,” said an engineer.
