Yamunanagar: Some residents of Saraswati Nagar (Mustafabad) blocked the Ambala-Saharapur railroad near the village of Uncha Chandana in the Yamunanagar district for about three hours on Friday, demanding the cessation of passenger trains at Saraswati Nagar Station.
The villagers supported by Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leaders (Charuni) gathered to hold Mahapachayat at the train station.
Protesters asked train employees at the station to summon senior officials, who told them that officials had gone from Ambala.
Protesters waited until 12pm and when no senior train officials reached the place of protest, the villagers decided to block the railroad to drive their requests to continue to be blocked until around 3pm.
Because of the blockade, the Ambala division canceled the Ambala-Saharanpur passenger train (04532) and many express trains and other items were also delayed.
Then, the Train Manager of the Railway Northern Railway Division (ADRM) Karan Singh reached the location of protests and calmed the protesters.
Singh convinced protesters that their division had sent a passenger train calculation proposal at Saraswati Nagar station to the train board and the same thing would be cleaned before January 21.
After the guarantee of the ADRM level train officer, the villagers raised the blockade.
