Ranchi: As many as five people were arrested from various regions under Ranchi in connection with theft of gold and silver jewelry worth 62 lakh Rs and bikes earlier this week, police said on Friday.
The people arrested were identified as Ritesh Verma, Anup Thakur, MD Sahil, MD Afroz and MD Arman.
They are all nabbed based on instructions collected from technical cells and CCTV recording.
Ranchi SSP Surindra Jha said the defendant had stolen jewelry from a shop at Mandir Road under the Doranda police station on Tuesday.
They use a gas cutter to solve iron shutter and iron grill to enter the store, 23kg silver jewelry, goods operator, oxygen cylinder, LPG cylinder, gas cutter and gas cutter pipe.
“He said that Honda’s bicycle, stolen by the defendant from a police officer around Monday, also recovered.
