Jaipur: Desert State has recorded an increase that can be ignored from the 25SQKM forest area, according to the Indian Forest State Report (ISFR), 2021.
Of the total geographical regions of 3,42,239sqm, the current forest cover is 16,655sQKM, which is 4.87%.
Forest cover in a situation two years ago was 16.630sqkm.
According to the report, state forest cover has experienced an increase in marginal 0.15sQkm compared to 2019.
While the moderate forest cover area has increased by 27 SQKM, open forest cover areas have witnessed a slight reduction in 2SQKM in the past two years.
In the previous report, the open forest was reduced from 12.210sqkm to 12.208sQkm.
In 2019, state forest cover has seen a marginal increase of 57.51SQKM compared to 2017, when the closing area of moderate forests and open forest cover areas decreased, although the first has begun to show an increase.
According to the report, while the very volilful area of forest (VDF) remained unchanged from 2019 with 78SQKM, a sufficiently dense forest (MDF) witnessed a small increase of 4.342SQM in 2019 to 4.369SQK in 2021.
experts claimed that the survey report was Strong in terms of data, it does not consider several other parameters including the quality of vegetation and biodiversity, that is, even though forest cover may not increase rapidly, it has increased in terms of quality.
IFSR said the reason for the increase was plantation and conservation activities and increased interpretation.
Forest cover is widely classified in four classes – very thick forests, forests that are quite dense, open forests and mangroves.
The closing classification becomes solid and open forests based on internationally adopted classification norms.
It is impossible to separate heavy forests into more classes because it is very basic validation work and limited methodology.
However, there are certain limitations in reports including non-availability of appropriate season data that sometimes leads to misinterpretation of poor features of data reflection.
