Navi Mumbai: A cruelty monkey baby chained behind a truck was rescued from the APMC market in Vashi by animal activists Bhumi Jeevdaya Samvardhan Trust.
Monkey health is currently being monitored after notifying forest officials.
“I have received a call from Ashish Bhanushali who works in the APMC wholesale market, that a baby monkey is seen on Friday afternoon tied with a chain to a truck in the market wheat.

Activists Bhumi Jeevdaya further informed that truck cleaners also told them that monkeys were sold in certain areas in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
“We told them that it was illegal to buy or sell monkeys.
Also, because many monkey families were also seen along the highway close to the protection of Karnala near Panvel, it was possible that the monkey commotion was happening.
